Jari Viuhkola is a world class player and a true skilled hockey player. He is excellent at almost every area: scoring, play making, defending. In fact Piku is missing almost none of the optimal goods needed to make an amazing hockey player. Viuhkola can play both in defence and in offence, and sometimes he can even dominate the game the way he wants.

Viuhkola is a strongly motivated athlete who sets a great example to the team with his natural leadership skills. He isn’t afraid of tough situations: the higher the stakes, the better Viuhkola skates.

The 29-year-old Viuhkola played in Kärpät from 1998 to spring 2007 when he was transferred to NHL. Unfortunately Viuhkola was injured and didn’t get a chance to whow his skills in the National Hockey League. He played ten games in Lowell Devils, the AHL team in New Jersey, and scored statistics 0+3=3. Then his back injury made him stop playing. Viuhkola returned to Oulu, got well and played in nine games before the playoffs and of course he was on the ice in playoffs scoring statistics 5+7=12.

Viuhkola has played over 300 games in the Finnish National League and 50 games in the National Team. He has won World Championship silver and bronze.

In Kärpät Viuhkola has won four championships, one silver medal, one bronze medal and two ECC silver medals. In the season 2003-2004 he was the Power player. Viuhkola has been chosen in the All Stars team in 2005 and in 2007. As a junior player he has won 18-year-old’s European Championship silver medal in 1998. He also played in 20-year-old’s World Championship team in 2000.
