You can describe Juha-Matti Aaltonen with just one word: skillplayer. He is an arrogant forward and creative with the stick and he also skates fast. This 23-year-old winger is starting his fourth season in Kärpät. He has deserved a place in the crowd of professionals thanks to his view of the game, clever bluffs, fast tricks and will to fight over the puck.

Aaltonen has grown into a team player but he isn’t afraid of making decisions himself when needed. He is also a physical player.

Season 2006-2007 was Aaltonen’s most efficient so far. He scored statistics 11+21=32 in 53 games. Last fall he got to wear the blue and white jersey of the National Team for the first time when he played in a tournament in the Czech Republic.

As a junior Aaltonen played in junior National Teams, and in spring 2003 he played in the under-18-year-old's World Champion Team. Aaltonen played his first games in the first league during season 2003-2004 when he was still a junior. Aaltonen has by far been one of the best players of his age group.
