Centre Veikko Karppinen is one of the most promising Kärppä youngsters. Karppinen is a well moving play maker whose hands work fast. He is quite skilful at all areas. It might very well be that this season will be Karppinen’s breakthrough season.

Last season the 23-year-old Karppinen played 48 games in the league. He played in the fourth unit.

In the season 2005-2006 Karppinen played in the silver winning team of A juniors scoring a point nearly in every match. In 38 matches he scored 12 goals and served 22 serves. Raised by Kajaanin Hokki, Karppinen joined the A juniors of Kärpät in the season 2004-2005. He has played several international junior games.
