Kristian Kuusela is a skilful, quick and plotting scorer. He is agile and sufficiently arrogant in his moves. Kuusela likes to shoot hard and he gives his all for the team.

Last season Kuusela scored his personal best statistics (18+27=45). Last spring’s championship was Kuusela’s first in Finland; when MoDo won gold in the season 2006-2007 in Sweden, Kuusela was one of the most important players in the team.

The game plan of Kärpät suits Kuusela well. He is a skillful and fast scorer, who played his way to Finnish hockey fans' hearts in Ässät during the season of 2005-2006 when the team won the silver medal. Kuusela, who has a great view of the game, had a significant role in Ässät, and he continued his good game in Sweden.

The 25-year-old forward scored his best points in Ässät during their silver medal season (26+17=43). Kuusela started his career in Tappara juniors, went looking for toughness in FPS in Mestis, and finally gained his place in the first league when joining Ässät. There he played for over four seasons before moving to Sweden. Kuusela has played six games in the National Team and 22 games in the junior National Team.
